Abstract

Conventional rice systems consume large amounts of agrochemicals, which result in the soil water contaminations. Therefore, rice production systems with agrochemical savings and high efficiency of resource use must be developed. The objective of this study was to evaluate the agro-productive effect of eights rice varieties of medium-cycle in the increase of the crop productivity under agro-ecological management conditions. The sowing of the varieties was done manually, direct, and volley. The following morpho-productive indicators were evaluated as the number of fertile stems per plant, average of height per plants (cm), number of panicles per plant, number of grains per panicle, panicle length (cm), mass of 1000 seeds (g) and the yield (t ha-1). The results indicating that the IA-31 and ILP-5 rice varieties presented the best agronomic and productive performance. The cultivars grouping showed patterns of associations between morphological characters and cultivars. The current study indicated that phenological and productive traits were useful for preliminary evaluation of varieties and can be used as a broad-spectrum approach to compare the genetic diversity of rice cultivars under agro-ecological conditions.
